Women's Tennis Swept by Undefeated Colby-Sawyer

BELGRADE, Maine – The Thomas College women's tennis team took a 9-0 loss to the defending North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Champions of Colby-Sawyer College on Saturday afternoon at the New England Golf and Tennis Camp.

In the defeat, Thomas now sits at 2-6 (2-4 NAC) overall while the Chargers remain undefeated at 8-0 (5-0).

In doubles, Olivia Mora (Surry, Maine) and Irune Arruti Moreno (Vitoria-Gasteiz, Spain) fell on the one line, 8-1.  Madison Bentz (Algonquin, Ill.) and Sadie Farrand (Norridgewock, Maine) were swept in twos while Alexis Raymond (Dover-Foxcroft, Maine) and Rebecca Kennett (Freeport, Maine) were also swept in threes.

Mora dropped her number one match 6-1, 6-0 while Moreno, Farrand, Raymond, Bentz, and Kennett each fell 6-0, 6-0 in their respective matches.

The Terriers will host their senior day on Sunday, October 1 as they take on the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts at 12:00 p.m.
