Men's Lacrosse Drubbed by Monks; Enter NAC Tournament as Six Seed

PORTLAND, Maine –The Thomas College men's lacrosse team ended their 2017 regular season in a 17-2 defeat to Saint Joseph's College in a non-conference men's lacrosse contest at Deering Memorial Stadium on Wednesday evening.

Seven different Saint Joseph's players scored and the Monks tied the program's single-game shots record with 73 attempts in a victory which saw the hosts open play with 15 unanswered goals.

Sophomore Michael Finn netted four goals with two assists while Sophomore Tyler Retalic scored four goals with three ground balls and two caused turnovers.  Senior Mark LaPierre tallied three goals and an assist.  Joe O'Reilly registered two goals, five assists, and three ground balls while Junior Devin Fitzpatrick (Malden, Mass.) added two goals and a pair of ground balls.

Junior Colby Blondin (Colchester, Vt.) netted both of the Terriers' goals with four face-off wins, five ground balls, and two caused turnovers. Junior Conner Blair (North Hartland, Vt.) picked up 11 ground balls with two caused turnovers. Senior Alex Lawson (Hockessin, Del.) added three ground balls and notched five caused turnovers.

Saint Joseph's featured three netminders in the victory, as junior Connor Trainor stopped all three shots he faced in the first half, junior Wyatt Porter made two saves in 24:57 minutes, and freshman Zachary Remillard made one stop in 5:03 between the pipes.

Thomas junior goalie Connor Lamberton (Shohola, Pa.) faced 34 shots and stopped 17 while logging all 60 minutes in net.

The Terriers kick off North Atlantic Conference Tournament play with a quarterfinal contest at Lyndon State College at 3:00 PM.
