Castleton, Vt. – The Thomas College men's lacrosse team (2-7, 2-2 NAC) were outshot in today's North Atlantic Conference match up as the top ranked Castleton State Spartans (6-6, 4-0 NAC) won 22-5.
Alex Green recorded game-highs in goals (four) and assists (three) to lead the Castleton offense. Sam Bailey started the goal scoring for the Spartans less than a minute into the game. The Spartans had 12 different goal scorers in the game and won 23-of-29 face offs.
For Thomas, Scott Dumas and Matt Quesada led the Terriers with two goals apiece. Kevin Averill chipped in with one goal to round out the scoring. Isaac Brown led the Terriers' defense with five groundballs.
Goalkeeper Jesse Morkeski recorded 20 saves for Thomas while Castleton's Dave DeGhetto and Tom Manley split time in net combining for five saves.
The Terriers will be back in action tomorrow as they finish out their road trip in Vermont facing Green Mountain for a 12 p.m. face off.
