FH: Terriers Battle Back Twice for NAC Win Over Husson

WATERVILLE, Maine – The Thomas College field hockey team came from behind twice to take a 3-2 North Atlantic Conference (NAC) victory over Husson on Tuesday evening at Bernatchez Field.

The Eagles struck first in the 14th minute on a goal by Haley Ward to put Husson up 1-0. The Terriers answered back in the 24th, with Britney Gregoire (Kennebunk, Maine) scoring her 11th of the season to make it 1-1 at the half.

Husson retook the lead in the 48th minute, with Mercedes Pease making it 2-1. Thomas tied it again in the 57th minute on a Lindsey Gregoire (Kennebunk, Maine) goal that brought the score to 2-2. Haley Thebarge (Smithfield, Maine) scored the game-winner with under 11 minutes to go on a penalty stroke to give Thomas the 3-2 win.

Leah Kruse (Norridgewock, Maine) picked up the win in the cage for Thomas, stopping five of seven shots for Thomas. Andrea Shaggy took the loss for Husson, allowing three goals on ten shots.

The Terriers will host UMaine-Farmington in a NAC contest on Saturday, October 13 at 11:00 AM as part of Homecoming & Family Weekend. Prior to the game, Thomas will recognize their seniors playing in their final home contest.
