WATERVILLE, Maine – The Thomas College field hockey team defeated Plymouth State University 4-1 in a non-conference game on Friday evening on Bernatchez Field.
The Panthers got on the board first with a goal by Kaitlyne Silva in the 21st minute to go up 1-0. Lindsey Gregoire (Kennebunk, Maine) evened it back up less than two minutes later to make it 1-1 going into the half.
The Terriers took the lead eight minutes into the second when Britney Gregoire (Kennebunk, Maine) scored to make it 2-1. Kelci Faulkingham (Belfast, Maine) and Lindsay Morong (Liberty, Maine) added insurance goals, both assisted by Allie Gregoire, to give Thomas the 4-1 win.
Leah Kruse (Norridgewock, Maine) earned the win for Thomas in 60 minutes of action before Alexis Bowman (Freedom, Maine) took over for the final ten minutes. Jessica Distler took the loss for Plymouth, allowing two goals on six shots.
Thomas will host Husson in a conference game at 7:00 PM on Tuesday, September 9 on Bernatchez Field.
